Gateway #3 Review

What is going on with Jake as he tries to turn through the world outside of Hopetown? Read on to find out.

As Jake settles into Freedom Town, he finds that life outside the walls of Hopetown is as dangerous as he was told. With no law and order, survival in Freedom Town requires a quick trigger finger.

So when this series first came out I thought it was just another survivalist story that download (4)was going to be boring and uneventful. However, it has turned into so much more because of the way that the character Jake is. He is someone that is great and very likable.  The one thing I love about Jake is that he is wanting more from his life even though the world isn’t worth living in. This is what happens in this issue. In this issue, we find someone that is so use to the easy life, compared to what it is, and taking a chance and moving on. The one thing is that Freedom Town is not somewhere that is easy to along well in. The nice thing is there are more characters to figure out what the next step is. There is some good and some bad but either way it is an interesting part. I think that this story is developing into something special because of the hope that there is in Jake.

The writing for this story is just great. There is so much to love with the characters, even the bad ones. I mean it is something really special. Now it isn’t very exciting, but it is story driven and makes it pretty.

The art is very gritty and raw. It is something that really does work for this kind of story. The attention to detail with everything is so cool.

Gateway is a fantastic story with fantastic art.
