THE END of the ULTIMATE UNIVERSE

I’m totally confounded by the House of Ideas. They keep announcing these teasers with large sweeping ramifications on an almost daily basis. And now they’re apparently ending their 12 year attempt to reach a more youthful and, dare we say it, modern audience.

Hence this doom-and-gloom Ultimate Universe image:

I think this pretty much spells out what many have long speculated, that the 1610 iteration is on its way toward a timely end. But considering the fact that this roster of superheroes withstood the narrative horror of Ultimatum and the might of Galactus I have my reservations about the certainty in this image.

Sure I could see them breaking away from their current Earth but what if all of these announced events just add into the year long Secret Wars narrative? I think we might be seeing a universe hopping tale that results in a new combined world, like the New 52, where select heroes assemble in a whole new play ground complete with a fresh take for franchises we downright know.

I have no idea, to be honest all I care about is whether or not Miles Morales survives the continuity shift and somehow comes over to the Spider-Man titles left in the wake of “The End.”
