Danger Girl: Trinity #1 Review

It’s Charlie’s Angels revisited! This comic is sexy, funny, and action packed. Prepare for a severe fan girl explosion.

The official description from IDW:

It’s three times the ACTION, three times the THRILLS, and three times the DANGER!!!  Abbey, Sydney and Sonya embark on three different knuckle-clenching adventures, each an epic tale of intrigue and derring-do, and each drawn by a different fantastic artist—It’s a triple-play of danger that will climax with the biggest surprise of the year!

The writing for Danger Girl: Trinity is done by Andy Hartnell and my heart is on the floor. It jumped out and then it melted. I can’t help myself! The writing is cheesy and I adore it. I found myself laughing out load at some of the scenes. The fact that I was so easily entertained by this comic should speak for itself. Well done, Andy, well done. I’m thoroughly impressed and look forward to more!

The art team includes: John Royle, Harvey Tolibao, and Stephen Molnar. They’re fabulous! I was raised on TV land and Nick at Night. The era of 70’s television just speaks to me. And this comic is just drenched in all of that old school badassery. That’s a word right? My friends, there was a fez on a bad guy. A fez! Nothing gets better than a villain with a tassel atop his evil little head. Okay, fangirl craziness aside, it’s a sexy comic with great frame work. I really enjoyed the use of broken glass to layout a scene in particular.

Danger Girl: Trinity #1 gets a four out of five from this fan! Not a five?! Why? Because of my obviously biased childhood rearing  I’m unsure if this is really that amazing or if I’m just lost in a haze of blind appraisal. We’ll just have to wait until next month!
