Bob’s Burgers #5 Review

The final issue in the Bob’s Burgers comic adaptation is upon us and the Belchers are just as crazy as ever. Is it worth reading or is it a pass? Read on to find out more.

The final issue in the first-ever Bob’s Burgers miniseries, featuring five original stories of the Belcher family! In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Tina finds a familiar face; Bob cultivates a list of literary classics; Louise tries to shed light on a Boyz 4 Now mystery while denying having any interest in them whatsoever; Linda imagines an alternate universe; and Gene presents a musical set at Robot College. Winner of the 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program!

Bob’s Burger’s has been an upand down for a comic book adaptation. I do really enjoy when animated tv showsBobsBurgers05-1-2925d give us a comic book form but there is a moment when you realize that it would be much better as show and that this the case for this issue and the last couple ones. Gene’s musicals need the music to go with them.  I don’t think it fully works as a story. Linda’s moments are alright. Bob’s actual burgers are pretty great. Tina’s fan fiction is pretty much the same set in different places and Louise is a great story. I wish it was the show not the comic though. Now if they did a story, that was just the show in written form it would have worked well.

Justin HookRachel HastingsMike Olsen, and Jeff Drake are great writers but the concepts and stories don’t work in this aspect of it. I need the visual movement and comedic timing of the actors to really pull this off.

Tony GennaroHector ReynosoMarcelo Benavides,Ken Laramay Paul Claerhout Ryan Mattos Kimball Shirley Bernard Derriman , and Kat Kosmala  are great artists and nail the visuals to a tee. It matches the show but, also, has their own twist on the artistic side of it.

Bob’s Burgers #5 misses the point and fun of the television show.
