Blackout #2 Review

With a great new suit, comes a great responsibility. Okay, that doesn’t sound near as good but seriously, find out what happens when a super suit is given. Read on to find out more.

Scott Travers’s mysterious suit grants him unseen, unlimited access to almost anywhere and may hold the key to his benefactor’s disappearance. But others will do anything—including kill—to possess the suit. Will Scott give up the search and ditch the suit to save his own skin?

This series is turning to be a very interesting take on the superhero world. So the last time that we were with our new hero, Scott,blackout2p3 he received a suit that brings out some of the coolest powers and it just is so cool. Now, Scott, is on the hunt for the mysterious benefactor of the suit. It is a mystery that is delved into a lot more but not in the way that you would think. There are some bad people in this world and they want the power that the suit has. It is really cool to see how Scott deals with these things and he ends up making a tough decision about his new found powers. There is one criticism that I have. The way that the comic is coming up, it doesn’t make Scott super likable, yet. He isn’t your run of the mill hero, which is nice, but I haven’t fallen in love with him, yet. I hope that changes.

The, overall, writing for this issue is very well done. There is a clear beginning, middle, and end that the writer wants you to follow that reveals some things but not too much.

The art is just fantastic. It is dark and fun. There are some really good uses of the colors, especially in a awesome blackout.

Blackout is an interesting take on the super suit story but I am not sold on the main character, yet.
