ACTION COMICS #1 Reaches Nearly $2 Million In Online Auction!

Five days into a ten day auction and one of two known 9.0 copies of Action Comics #1 has reached 1.95 million dollars.  The other copy was recently auctioned off by Nicholas Cage for 2.16 million dollars.  Early indications for this copy show it is between nine bidders.  It is also worth noting this particular copy of Action Comics #1 is considered to be in better condition than Cage’s old copy.

Once the action ends on August 24th a portion (I am curious what percentage) will be donated to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.  This foundation works to develop new techniques to help those with spinal cord injuries.  The book’s current owner is its fourth and recently reported turning down a 3 million dollar offer on the book, and elected to auction the copy instead.

While this is one of two CGC 9.0 rated copies there are 28 other known copies of Action Comics #1 in the United States today. Keep this in mind when you feel frustrated your copy of Spawn #1 refuses to rise in price.  I know Image said it was a collector’s item, but they lied to you.  There are well over a million copies of that book available today.
