Robbie Amell as Terry McGinnis in BATMAN BEYOND?!

It seems like everybody would love to be a superhero these days, and Robbie Amell is no different. Of course he already seems to have a head start in that department with his roles such as CW’s The Flash, and Tomorrow People. It seems he hasn’t quite got over the satisfaction of playing superheroes since there is still one more he would like to play.

At Salt Lake City’s Comic con a fan asked him a question on whether he would be interested in playing Terry McGinnis in a live action Batman Beyond if it were to ever happen. Read what he had to say…

“I think the problem is because they have Batman going on right now, they won’t make the Batman Beyond movie until I’m too old to be Terry McGinnis. By then I’ll probably be the old, crusty Batman. But I’m a huge fan of that idea.”

It sounds like he has been thinking about that for quite some time actually. I don’t really know much about his acting to give input on if he would make a great Terry McGinnis or not. People thought Heath Ledger (may he rest in peace) wasn’t going to be a  great Joker and he was in my opinion the best joker there was. I can see Robbie Amell playing Terry actually. Just by his looks I say he looks pretty close to the character don’t you think? His acting might also surprise you like it did with Heath Ledger.

There were times where it was pitched earlier on to make a Batman Beyond film but it was put on hold once Christopher Nolan got his hands on Batman Begins.

“I think the smartest idea for them would be to make it like a $30 million movie. Don’t do like a $200 million blockbuster, do a dark, gritty version of Batman Beyond.

Even though it was in the Sci-Fi/Mystery/cyberpunk it was also kid friendly and the dark and gritty version of it would make it seem like a Christopher Nolan film which there is nothing wrong with that, but will Batman Beyond if it were to be made, be like the animated series? Or if the there was a dark element that was added to it would it be too dark for children to enjoy?

What do you Bat fans think? Should they just stick to the animated series instead? I’m all for a Batman movie, but I’m not quite sure if they should mess with Batman Beyond.
